Info about your recording session and our studio policies

Rates, deposits, scheduling, payment

  • Your rate is discussed ahead of time and will be final once agreed upon. Please make sure to decide on mixing and mastering packages so that applicable discounts or deals can be discussed before locking plans in.

  • We require a 50% deposit for in-studio dates. Dates are not held until a deposit is received.

  • Here’s how to pay:
***For Venmo and PayPal, check the “friends and family” option to avoid a fee. If you fail to do so, the fee will be charged to you***

    • Venmo @bradfordkrieger (friends and family)

    • PayPal bradfordkrieger@gmail.com (friends and family)

    • Check sent to the studio address

    • Credit Card payments are available - please ask for further info and we’ll send an invoice your way.

  • Deposits ensure your studio date is reserved and your engineer is confirmed. They are not refundable, but we’re happy to apply the deposit to a date in the future should an emergency arise.

  • Payment is due in full on the last day of your session. Payment is acceptable in any of ways outlined above. Cash payments are accepted and welcomed.

  • In general, weekends are booked out 4 months in advance, and weekdays have a bit more flexibility.

Hours

  • We operate on an 8 hour day schedule. Please discuss the available time slots ahead of time to ensure your preferred timeframe will work with your engineer.

  • The 8 hour session includes all load-in and load-out time. Please do not arrive early, as it’s a critical time for your engineer to prep for the day. Generally, all microphone stringing and placement, patching, and Pro Tools preparation is handled before you arrive so that we can hit the ground running when you walk through the door.

  • The 8 hour session includes all time needed for mixdowns, backups, and data transfers at the end of the day. It also includes the time it takes to break down the recording setup. In general, please allow for around an hour at the end of day to accommodate for this process. It’s also a great time to take care of breaking down your gear and loading out.

  • We have off-hours available, and can be flexible to suit your needs. Please reach out with any alternative approaches you’d like to consider.

Data, media, stems, prints

  • We are happy to store active projects on our studio hard drives. We have a rigorous data management system to ensure that your files are protected.

  • Once a session is wrapped, artists are responsible for their own data, media, and backups. Please bring a hard drive to ensure you have access to your own archival backups. We do not offer long term storage.

  • If you require stems or prints of any kind please let us know in advance, and anticipate added time to accommodate for this process. We don’t automatically include stems of any kind in our deliverables.

On the day

Getting here

  • We are located at 25A Carrington St. in Lincoln, RI. We’re at the bottom of the hill, look for the signs and banners for “Blackstone Quilting.” We are located at the end of that mill building; follow it down to the right and park anywhere. The main door is on the far side of the building, with the horseshoe.

  • Please plan on accommodating for any anticipated traffic - we don’t tack on extra time for late arrivals.

Gear

  • You have access to our full collection of gear and equipment. If there’s anything in particular you’d like to use please mention it to Bradford, as pieces are frequently serviced and sometimes are in the shop.

  • If you use our house drum kit it significantly cuts down on setup time at the beginning of the day.

Food, drink, smoking, etc

  • No smoking inside the building, and please dispose of cigarette butts in the receptacle by the front door.

  • We have a fridge, microwave, coffee pot, and water cooler.

  • There are many great dining options nearby, a full range of restaurants deliver via GrubHub, Foodler, etc.
